Lanzhou University Faculty of Medicine Lanzhou University (LZU), a national comprehensive university under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education, is a major university subsidized by China’s highest-ranking Project 985 and Project 211 programs. Founded in 1909 as the Gansu Law and Politics School, it was the starting point for the modern higher education of Gansu Province and a forerunner of academic progress in northwest China.
